Program (SDP)

The California Self-Determination Program (SDP) gives individuals with developmental disabilities and their families more control, choice, and flexibility in designing services that support their goals. Instead of being limited to a traditional vendor list, families can partner directly with trusted providers like Tectonic Fitness to create a program that truly fits their needs.

How Tectonic Fitness Supports Families in SDP

At Tectonic Fitness, we work hand-in-hand with families, Independent Facilitators (IFs), and Financial Management Services (FMS) to make the process smooth, transparent, and stress-free.

We are already set up with many FMS providers and can quickly complete any additional vendor paperwork if needed.

How to Get Started with Tectonic Fitness Under SDP

Talk with your IF or Service Coordinator

Let them know you’d like to include Tectonic Fitness in your spending plan.
 Share our program descriptions and pricing (we’ll provide this).

Build Your Spending Plan

Your IF will place our services into the right budget categories (e.g., Community Integration, Health & Safety, Fitness & Recreation).
 We’ll support them with any documentation needed.

Connect Us with Your FMS

If we are already a vendor with your FMS, we’ll begin billing directly.
 If not, we’ll quickly complete their vendor paperwork so billing can start.

Begin Training at Tectonic Fitness

Choose from our 1:1 personal training, small group classes, or specialty programs.
 We’ll create a welcoming, structured, and fun fitness plan tailored to your goals.

Receive Ongoing Support From Us

We’ll continue to work with your IF and FMS to keep your billing smooth and your services uninterrupted.

Not in Self-Determination? We Can Still Work With You!

Even if you’re not in the Self-Determination Program, you may still be able to use traditional

Regional Center funding for Tectonic Fitness services.

North Los Angeles County Regional Center

We currently work with

NLARC families and have experience coordinating fitness services through their authorization process.

Case Manager Collaboration

If you are with NLARC, we’ll work directly with your Service Coordinator to determine the best funding pathway for our programs.

Other Regional Centers in Surrounding Area

While NLARC is where most of our families come from, we are open to working with families supported by other Regional Centers as well.

Private Pay + Regional Center Support

If Regional Center hours do not fully cover services, some families choose to combine authorized hours with private pay.

Future Transition to Self Determination Program

Many families who begin with Regional Center funding later move into Self-Determination. Starting with NLARC support can make this transition much smoother.
